Temporary changes to LCSS service delivery arrangements

letter from Kevin Gordon (Director Of Childrens Services) describing some temporary changes to LCSS

Dear colleagues,

Please find attached a letter  from Kevin Gordon (Director Of Childrens Services) describing some temporary changes to LCSS service delivery for a period of three months and the reasons for these changes.

I would be very grateful if you would share this letter with your staff  for their information.

Children’s Services absolutely understands the critical importance of early help for families and how highly school staff value the support  of LCSS in this work. We want to reassure you  as the letter states this is a time-limited measure to help increase capacity across the system to undertake statutory assessments  whilst we implement a new enhanced duty system aimed at better delivery of statutory assessments and interventions to the children who need social care support.

The intention is that LCSS will resume its usual service as from 28 February 2022.

If you or your staff have any questions about this please don’t hesitate to contact Caroline.Spamer@oxfordshire.gov.uk (Interim Head of Service  LCSS, MASH, EDT) or Emily.Smout@oxfordshire.gov.uk (Team Manager LCSS ) who will be happy to talk through any practice or operational  issues you might  want to discuss.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued hard work supporting children and families during these difficult times. It is very much appreciated

Many thanks,

Maria Godfrey
