The Oxfordshire Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support guidance has recently been updated. Thank you to all the teachers, parents and teams within the Local Authority who contributed.
All schools and settings should have a clear approach to early identification and response to children and young people’s SEN as part of their universal offer. Oxfordshire’s SEN Support Guidance is written for schools and settings to help them to identify a child or young person’s special educational needs, the level of support they offer and how to arrange and monitor the support given.
This information is also designed to help parents of a child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities understand the support their child might receive.
If you are new to Oxfordshire, the Oxfordshire School Inclusion Team (OXSIT) have designed a Power Point to demonstrate how this guidance can be used to support schools to improve their graduated response. We are continuing to work on all our guidance materials online to ensure they are as accessible as possible.
Improving outcomes for pupils at SEN Support continues to be a focus for schools in Oxfordshire. If you would like to discuss your current SEN provision, how you might develop your graduated response and improve outcomes for this group of pupils please contact OXSIT@Oxfordshire.gov.uk to discuss how we may be able to help.
