Continued service following Carillion’s collapse

All staff
An update from Alexandra Bailey, Director of Property, Assets and Investments

I’m glad to report that it’s been business since we took over the remaining property and facilities services from Carillion on 1 February.

As you will know, we had to accelerate plans to take over the remaining services because of Carillion entering liquidation, but thanks to the hard work of our staff and the cooperation of schools and academies there has been no negative impact on service – children have been fed and staff will be paid.

We were well prepared for this day and I’m pleased for the 300 colleagues who are now on Oxfordshire County Council contracts who, I hope, have a more certain future ahead of them. We continue to work with our HR team to protect their employment terms and conditions, such as annual leave and continuous service.

I’d like to use this opportunity to remind you of the new contact details for any property and facilities enquiries. If you have an emergency issue, such as a water leak, loss of power or heating or staffing and supply issues, call our property and facilities helpdesk on 01865 897251. You can also write to if you have any general enquiries.

Lastly, if you or any of your colleagues are transferring to the council and you have any queries about your contract, get in touch with Emilie Walton at You can also speak to a member of our dedicated HR Advice Desk team on 03300 240 849 if you have any general questions.

Best wishes

Alexandra Bailey
