As from 1 September 2015 all new NQTs can be registered with the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA) as the Appropriate Body for NQT Induction.
The contact details are as follows:
Oxfordshire County Council will continue to support the NQTs already registered with them until their induction period is successfully completed. If you have any queries regarding the induction process email email@example.com.
Your NQT year is very important because it forms a vital bridge between your initial teacher training and your continuing professional development in school. You should have:
- an induction tutor
- well targeted support
- monitoring of your progress against the Teachers' Standards
- 10% NQT time
- 10% PPA (planning, preparation and assessment) time
Your induction year must consist of one academic year (six school terms in Oxfordshire). For a part-time NQT, the period is calculated pro rata thus an NQT who works 0.5 would have an induction of 12 terms.
