The Oxfordshire Museums Service offers a comprehensive programme of heritage workshops to schoolchildren across Oxfordshire. The Hands on Oxfordshire's Heritage (HOOH) service gives them the opportunity to handle real and replica objects from the past with the help of experienced workshop leaders. This can be at the Oxfordshire Museum, in your school or as a box loan. This is a great chance to further your pupil’s knowledge of the historical area you are currently studying. Download the current catalogue or for more information contact the Learning and Access team on 01865 300639 or email HOOH@oxfordshire.gov.uk.
Activities for families
Throughout the year, The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock holds activities for children and parents, giving them a chance learn in a fun and interactive way. Families can search the museum for fascinating facts and objects - everything from Dinosaurs to Roman artefacts to scientific innovations. They can dress up in costumes, and take part in creative activities in school holidays or borrow a backpack of activities to do in the galleries. These activities allow children to learn more outside of school, and put them one-step ahead of their classmates. To find out more, visit the Events Page.
