Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) is delivered by Chamberlains Aqua & Energy Systems Limited (CAESL), a specialist consultancy in energy, sustainability, and net zero strategy.
CAESL works in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council to provide trusted, impartial support to schools—helping them reduce energy use, cut carbon emissions, and build long-term resilience to climate change. With expertise spanning energy systems, data analysis, low-carbon technologies, and climate adaptation, the team brings practical, hands-on experience to support schools from initial assessment through to implementation and impact.
Through ACES, CAESL delivers a comprehensive programme of support, including energy assessments, funding guidance, behavioural change initiatives, and climate adaptation planning—helping schools take meaningful, achievable steps towards a more sustainable future.
ACES was previously delivered by Environmental Information Exchange at Oxford Brookes University and Low Carbon Hub.
Oxfordshire County Council
Oxfordshire County Council published a Climate Action Framework, committing to prioritising action on climate change across the Council and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 for its corporate estate and operations. The Council has also committed to reducing emissions from all of its areas of influence, including supporting maintained schools to reduce their emissions. They are funding the project.
